Insurance
A majority of my clients pay out of pocket. However, I do have room for a select number of insurance clients from the following companies; Sana Benefits, Aetna, Oscar Health, UMR, United and Optum. Please reach out to see if I have availability.
If you have an insurance provider that I do not accept, it may be possible for services to be reimbursed in full or in part via the submission of a “superbill” or with the help of the company Mentaya. Mentaya, is a platform that helps clients get money back on their out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year. You can sign up using this link. It’s completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
If you’d prefer to handle the out of network reimbursement on your own, superbills are provided to you automatically through my electronic medical records system Simple Practice. To learn more about your out of network benefits; please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits? If yes, what is the reimbursement rate for CPT code 90837 for sessions and 90791 for intakes?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet? What is my out-of-pocket max?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Payment
I accept all major credit, debit and HSA cards as forms of payment through Stripe on my Simple Practice account.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel via email at least 24 hours before your scheduled session time. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session– insurance client or cash! The policy applies to both.
